What are consumer-directed services at Delta Center?

Delta Center

When it comes to the care you need in daily life, you know best. That’s why Delta Center provides and supports consumer-directed services (CDS).

This program is designed for adults 18 years and older who are eligible for nursing home care to retain the services of a personal attendant. Rather than a state agency, the patient chooses their care provider and directs their care. While similar to in-home services, CDS doesn’t include any task performed by a licensed professional, like a nurse providing medication.

State and federal funds pay for services through MO HealthNet (Medicaid).

Who qualifies for consumer-directed services?

To qualify for consumer-directed services, you must have Missouri Medicaid/MO HealthNet and meet a certain Level of Care (LOC) to be eligible for consumer-directed services. Meaning you must be willing and able to direct their care. Individuals who cannot, like those with Alzheimer’s, are not eligible.

If you are unsure of the eligibility status of yourself or a loved one, reach out to us at Delta Center by calling our Information and Referral Hotline at 636-926-8761, extension 228, or you may contact us by email at info@dcil.org.
